New Nedia Design & Web Development Program Overview
Interested in learning how to design, create stories, and produce websites? You’ve come to the right place! The BCIT New Media Design and Web Development program is an 18-month full time diploma program that includes a 9-week internship at the end of your studies.
They provide hands on courses that allow you to work on your creative and technical skills. Some of the courses focus on areas such as; Adobe software designing, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, UI/UX interface, web marketing, and communications/storytelling. Throughout the term you are able to compile all of the work you have done to create your own digital portfolio for when you graduate to present to possible employers or clients.
For those that finish the program, many are able to find careers in a wide range of positions. Since this program is so open, it allows students to choose which career path they would prefer to pursue. Some of the jobs that the graduates have gotten are; web developers, graphic designers, marketing specialist, UI/UX designers, video/audio editors, and many others!
Below we have provided you with a course tree, which displays how courses connect to one another throughout your time in the program. We have divided the tree into new media design, web development, and other. These trees go in order of which courses you begin studying first, and how you will continue to build on these courses as you move from term to term.
